On March 16, 2012 from 6p-10p community arts organization LittleBlack Pearl (LBP) will host its next installation in its new quarterly series featuring live poetry, arts and music performances entitled Black Unplugged. This intimate series is a unique blend of the arts and community spirit which embodies the mission of LBP. The next event will feature George Duke, musician and song-writer, producer.
Hosted by acclaimed singer and songwriter Nona Hendryx, Black Unplugged is an exciting series of performances produced by Grammy award winning musician Terri Lyne Carrington. Neo-soul vocalist Lizz Wright will also be featured as well in this next concert of the series.
“Black Unplugged is a dynamic blending of the arts meant to engage and inspire the community,” explains founder and executive director Monica Haslip. “Art is a catalyst for dialogue and change which can happen when we are introduced to new ideas, thoughts and music.”
